Current Obsession : Hot Pink Lipstick

I've been loving hot pink lipstick lately. Especially on days that i don't feel like putting on too much makeup. The bold colour helps attract people's attention to my lips rather than the absence of eyeshadow etc.

Here's my top 2 pick of hot pink lipstick

1. Dior Addict Extreme in the colour Plaza (476)

This is a rather sheer hot pink, but still give a statement. It doesn't have any shimmer and last quite well on the lips.

2. Revlon Lip Butter in Lollipop

This is one of the lip butters that is very pigmented. It has a slight glitter and definitely much more brighter than the dior one. The staying power is not that great. Considering that this product is supposed to moisturize your lips, it can slide easily. I would recommend carrying a mirror at all times when wearing this. Aside form that, It's a really nice lipstick. Very bold and striking.

I hope this inspire you guys to pull out your more daring lip colours and use them more often.

Inglot Palette - Eyeshadow Palette

If You guys have seen my previous post, you know that I went to Inglot a little while ago. In my previous post I showed you guys my blush palette, now I'm gonna show the eyeshadow palette

Yes, I got one missing eyeshadow. The SA forgot to give me one of the colour that i've picked and I didn't realize that until I'm home. 8 out of 9 of the eyeshadow that i picked are matte because it is hard to find good quality matte eyeshadows. They are really amazing for what they cost. I feel like the matte eyeshadows are definitely better than the wet n wild palettes but still not as good as Urban Decay.

These are the colours that I have

Matte 335

Matte 328

AMC shine 25

Matte 357

Matte 341

Matte 344

Matte 358

Matte 339

Matte 391

I think they all looks almost the same in pictures, but I promise you, they are different. Here is the swatch:

The texture of the matte eyeshadows are not as powdery as the wet n wild palettes. They are definitely better quality and super smooth. If you compared them with Urban Decay, I think Urban Decay eyeshadows are better packed and less crumbly (Urban Decay use minimal binder to press their eyeshadows). But, for the price, I have to say that Inglot wins by far. each eyeshadow cost me about 15 SGD, where as UD costs about 30 SGD, aside form that, Inglot eyeshadows contain more products at 2.3 gr per pan where as UD's 1.5 gr per pan.

All and all I think this is a really great product. I highly recommend Inglot eyeshadows, especially for those of you guys that are looking for good quality eyeshadows on a budget.

Have a great day everyone.

Inglot Palette - Blush Palette

A little while ago, I got a chance to visit Johor Bahru. If you guys didn't know already, Inglot is a Polish makeup brand that is easily available in Malaysia. So I want there and bought a blush palette and an eyeshadow palette.

If you are not familiar with Inglot, they are basically famous for their freedom system palette and their nail polishes. I didn't even bother to buy any nail polishes because they are quite expensive (I'd much rather get OPI or essie nail polishes). The freedom system allows you to customize your own palette. They have a ton of different palette combinations. Go check out their website if you are interested.

These are the blushes:

And the swatches:

The blushes are very pigmented. I need to apply each blush with very light hand and a stippling brush. They are blend-able and very smooth.

My favorite would be blush 34, It's a very subtle colour that i can use during day time. It has a slight sparkle, but doesn't really transfer to the skin.

Blush 20 is a matte cool tone pink that is very flattering on the face. Slightly powdery but other than that, it's a really great product.

Blush 29 and AMC 68 are also very nice and smooth. They have a slight coral tone and very wearable.

If you have an Inglot store near you, I really recommend these blushes. They are reasonably priced (compared to MAC, UD, etc) and good quality.

Have a great week ahead..

Make Up Store - Cover All Mix

I've been eyeing this concealer and corrector trio for months now. So, last week, I caved in an decided to buy this.

Since this is rather new to me, I'm not gonna do a full in depth review about this product. I'm just gonna give you some colour comparison to other concealer and corrector.

It has 3 colours, a pinky salmon corrector, a greenish corrector and a neutral one. The main idea behind this is to use the salmon colour corrector for under eyes, the green one to neutralize redness and the neutral concealer to adjust the tone of the corrector. I believe they have 2 shades of this concealer/corrector wheel, the other one is in darker shades.

The reason why I wanted to do this colour comparison is because when I was looking to buy this, I couldn't find much information about this product.

So, here's the swatch of some correctors that i have.

1. Bobbi Brown Warm Natural concealer

Clearly this concealer is way too dark for my skin tone.

2. MAC Studio Finish in NC 20

I swatch this just to give you a comparison of how light the neutral concealer in the make up store palette is.

3. MUFE concealer camouflage palette (just the green corrector)

This is the only other green corrector i have. MUFE is considerably brighter and more mint green. What I don't like about the MUFE corrector is that I have to mix the corrector with concealer myself due to how bright the colour is. It's just another extra step that I'm just too lazy to do.

4,5,6. Make Up Store Cover All Mix

4. I guess compared to the MUFE green corrector, this Make Up Store ones looks kinda more yellowish green. Which I like because i can just apply this on my face without being afraid I'll look like a green alien. I tried this around my nose (which is very red), and i love how it really neutralized the redness.

5. The neutralizer in this wheel is quite light. I only apply a little bit of it on top of the corrector.

6. This colour is very similar to the Bobbi Brown corrector (swatch no 8).

7. MUFE camouflage cream no 19

I bought this pot separately from the concealer palette that MUFE have (yes, you can purchase each colour in the individual pot). You definitely need to mix this with your own concealer, just like the green corrector from MUFE. For this product a little bit goes a long way. You only need a tad bit of this to mix with your own concealer.

8. Bobbi Brown Corrector in Light Bisque

This is the closest thing i could find to the Make Up Store's Cover All Mix. Both are really great at covering under eye circles.

Here is a before and after picture of my eyes with Make Up Store Cover All Mix

I use the salmon corrector under my eye and the green corrector on the little redness on my eyelid. Then I blend with the neutral concealer. All the corrector/concealer in this wheel have nice texture, very creamy and easily blend-able. Opaque enough to cover imperfections.

I definitely need to try these more to give a more in depth review on how they last on the skin and what not, but so far so good.

I hope this post will help you guys to see the color comparison. If you already have a salmon colour corrector and only looking for the green corrector, I believe Make Up Store sells each of the colour individually.

Have an awesome day everyone!!

Worth The Hype? YSL Rouge Pur Couture Glossy Stain no.7

Hi guys,

Sorry for the silent treatment, I've been busy with work. Anyway, today I want to share with you one of my newest purchase.

It's the YSL glossy stain. I've seen a lot of people rave about this product, so I gave up and bought one. The colour that i purchased is no 7, Corail Aquatique. So, here is some pics.

I have to say, I'm kinda disappointed with the packaging. It's very light and plastic-y. To me it looks more like a tester at the counter rather than a luxurious product.

Here's the ingredients.

The applicator is flexible and soft. It deposits enough product for one application.

Here's a swatch of the product. I choose a coral nude colour, because i know i can use this on a daily basis. I'm not gonna splurge and buy an expensive item that I don't think i will get a lot of use.

Without any lip products

With the glossy stain

After trying this for a couple of weeks now, I love this product. It's like a lipstick, stain, and gloss at the same time. Very pigmented and last a long time on the lips. Unlike any other lip stain that I've tried, this do not settle on the crease of my lips. It feels creamy and not drying. It truly feels like you are wearing a moisturizing lipstick.

The SA told me that this stain will last for 24 hours, but to me that's not the case. If you eat anything greasy at all, it'll be gone. The glossy finish last on my lips for at least 3 hours, after that I'm left with the stain. If you don't eat anything greasy at all, it will last for a good 6-7 hours.

All and all I would definitely recommend this product. It's definitely worth the hype. I think next time I go to a YSL counter, I'll try bolder colour like red.

I hope you all have a wonderful day, until next time..

Braids

I stumble upon this picture on instagram (Username: gracemarlyn) last week. I tried to find it in google but didn't manage to find this pic.

Anyway, since braids are so in right now (ever since The Hunger Games movies), I just wanna share this amazing braid i found. It seems like a zig-zag french braid, but I'm not sure how she finished the braid.

So, have you guys been rocking this trend? I personally have been doing side french braid as my go-to bad hair day.

Hope you all have a great day or evening.
