Make Up Store - Cover All Mix

I've been eyeing this concealer and corrector trio for months now. So, last week, I caved in an decided to buy this.

Since this is rather new to me, I'm not gonna do a full in depth review about this product. I'm just gonna give you some colour comparison to other concealer and corrector.

It has 3 colours, a pinky salmon corrector, a greenish corrector and a neutral one. The main idea behind this is to use the salmon colour corrector for under eyes, the green one to neutralize redness and the neutral concealer to adjust the tone of the corrector. I believe they have 2 shades of this concealer/corrector wheel, the other one is in darker shades.

The reason why I wanted to do this colour comparison is because when I was looking to buy this, I couldn't find much information about this product.

So, here's the swatch of some correctors that i have.

1. Bobbi Brown Warm Natural concealer

Clearly this concealer is way too dark for my skin tone.

2. MAC Studio Finish in NC 20

I swatch this just to give you a comparison of how light the neutral concealer in the make up store palette is.

3. MUFE concealer camouflage palette (just the green corrector)

This is the only other green corrector i have. MUFE is considerably brighter and more mint green. What I don't like about the MUFE corrector is that I have to mix the corrector with concealer myself due to how bright the colour is. It's just another extra step that I'm just too lazy to do.

4,5,6. Make Up Store Cover All Mix

4. I guess compared to the MUFE green corrector, this Make Up Store ones looks kinda more yellowish green. Which I like because i can just apply this on my face without being afraid I'll look like a green alien. I tried this around my nose (which is very red), and i love how it really neutralized the redness.

5. The neutralizer in this wheel is quite light. I only apply a little bit of it on top of the corrector.

6. This colour is very similar to the Bobbi Brown corrector (swatch no 8).

7. MUFE camouflage cream no 19

I bought this pot separately from the concealer palette that MUFE have (yes, you can purchase each colour in the individual pot). You definitely need to mix this with your own concealer, just like the green corrector from MUFE. For this product a little bit goes a long way. You only need a tad bit of this to mix with your own concealer.

8. Bobbi Brown Corrector in Light Bisque

This is the closest thing i could find to the Make Up Store's Cover All Mix. Both are really great at covering under eye circles.

Here is a before and after picture of my eyes with Make Up Store Cover All Mix

I use the salmon corrector under my eye and the green corrector on the little redness on my eyelid. Then I blend with the neutral concealer. All the corrector/concealer in this wheel have nice texture, very creamy and easily blend-able. Opaque enough to cover imperfections.

I definitely need to try these more to give a more in depth review on how they last on the skin and what not, but so far so good.

I hope this post will help you guys to see the color comparison. If you already have a salmon colour corrector and only looking for the green corrector, I believe Make Up Store sells each of the colour individually.

Have an awesome day everyone!!

Worth The Hype? YSL Rouge Pur Couture Glossy Stain no.7

Hi guys,

Sorry for the silent treatment, I've been busy with work. Anyway, today I want to share with you one of my newest purchase.

It's the YSL glossy stain. I've seen a lot of people rave about this product, so I gave up and bought one. The colour that i purchased is no 7, Corail Aquatique. So, here is some pics.

I have to say, I'm kinda disappointed with the packaging. It's very light and plastic-y. To me it looks more like a tester at the counter rather than a luxurious product.

Here's the ingredients.

The applicator is flexible and soft. It deposits enough product for one application.

Here's a swatch of the product. I choose a coral nude colour, because i know i can use this on a daily basis. I'm not gonna splurge and buy an expensive item that I don't think i will get a lot of use.

Without any lip products

With the glossy stain

After trying this for a couple of weeks now, I love this product. It's like a lipstick, stain, and gloss at the same time. Very pigmented and last a long time on the lips. Unlike any other lip stain that I've tried, this do not settle on the crease of my lips. It feels creamy and not drying. It truly feels like you are wearing a moisturizing lipstick.

The SA told me that this stain will last for 24 hours, but to me that's not the case. If you eat anything greasy at all, it'll be gone. The glossy finish last on my lips for at least 3 hours, after that I'm left with the stain. If you don't eat anything greasy at all, it will last for a good 6-7 hours.

All and all I would definitely recommend this product. It's definitely worth the hype. I think next time I go to a YSL counter, I'll try bolder colour like red.

I hope you all have a wonderful day, until next time..

Braids

I stumble upon this picture on instagram (Username: gracemarlyn) last week. I tried to find it in google but didn't manage to find this pic.

Anyway, since braids are so in right now (ever since The Hunger Games movies), I just wanna share this amazing braid i found. It seems like a zig-zag french braid, but I'm not sure how she finished the braid.

So, have you guys been rocking this trend? I personally have been doing side french braid as my go-to bad hair day.

Hope you all have a great day or evening.

Kony 2012

Hey Guys,

I just watched this video and I didn't realize what is happening. This is a very serious matter that I feel like we need to help as much as we can. I know I don't have many followers on this blog, but I believe if at least there will be one more person that know about this, it's worth it. Please repost this if you have any blog or just share it on your facebook page. Let's educate people about Invisible Children and Kony 2012. Help their cause as much as we can.

Spread the word about this. It cost you nothing to repost or share on your facebook page. Like the video says, "who are you not to end a war?"

Teaser Haul: Revlon Colorburst Lip Butter

Hey everyone.

Today I went to the mall and purchased some of the colorburst lip butter. This is a cult favorite right now. A lot of bloggers and youtubers rave about this so much.

Anyway, I can't use these before i take some pictures and when i came home today, it's already dark. I can't possibly do any swatches. So, I took some product pictures first and i'll do the swatches on monday.

Here it is:

Yeap, I got carried away. At first I decided to only allow myself to get a max of 6, but I ended up with 10. There are 3 more colours that I really want (Lollipop, Sugar Plum, and Berry Smoothie), but i decided to just try these first and I can always go back and pick up more if I like them.

And here is some crappy swatches:

I can't wait to do proper swatches, reviews, and possibly dupe colours.

Have a great weekend everyone ^^

Current Obsession : Revlon Nail Polishes

Have you ever tried Revlon nail polishes?

I always trusted my nails to OPI. I know they can be expensive sometimes. Like if you buy them at Sephora (singapore) or any department stores, they will cost about SGD 23.50, in smaller stores they will cost about SGD 15-18, but if you find a very remote place or maybe online store they will cost about SGD 9-11 (I usually pre-order my OPI nail polishes from Wow! Pretty Nails)

Anyway, Revlon nail polishes in Singapore is quite expensive. If I'm not wrong, they retail about SGD 7-8 (my friend just informed me, it is SGD 12). So, I never thought that they are worth it, until I came back to Indo and saw that they are only about SGD 5 here (after conversion). I started by buying 3 and then my collection grew.

L-R: Peach Smoothie, Cotton Candy, Gum Drop, Not So Blueberry, Beach

L-R: Silver Dollar, Revlon Red, Vixen, Midnight Affair

L-R: Peachy, Jaded, Pink Lingerie, Grape, Hazy, Stormy

There are several formulation to these polishes. I'm not so sure how many, but from what i have there are 4.

1. Scented Perfume
As shown in the first picture here. These are definitely my favorite formulation. They are scented, so, they will smell nice once they dry. It smells nice even if you layer a top coat on it. The smell doesn't last forever though. I'd say they lasted for about a day and a half. They are scented according to their name (ex: peach smoothie smells like peach, cotton candy smells like sweet candy, etc)

2. Metallic
I only have one of this, the silver dollar. I don't see any difference in application compared to their normal nail polishes.

3. Their regular nail polishes

4. Top Speed
I have to say that this is probably my least favorite formulation. My complain for this formulation is the strong nauseating scent. You really need to be in a good ventilated room to apply these nail polishes. My theory is (don't quote me, I might be wrong) that because these polishes dry very fast, they contain more alcohol.

Despite the pros and cons, I have to tell you that Revlon nail polishes are probably one of the best affordable nail polish out there. Out of all that i bought, there is no lack of pigmentation. They are very pigmented, making the application easy. They are not streaky and they have a good range of colours.

My top three would be Silver Dollar, Cotton Candy, and Revlon Red.

I've even heard about revlon whimsical which is a dupe for a deborah lippmann nail polish. Not something that i'm interested in though.

So, anyway, that's it for my current obsession. I can't wait to go to the mall tomorrow, because Revlon colorburst lip butter is finally out.. YAY! and i also can't wait for the nicole by OPI kardashian kolor collection (which will be out soon too)

Have a great weekend everyone
